Dinner spots worth queuing for

The hyped-up restaurants that are well worth the wait.

padella

padella

Cult pasta restaurant Padella has been attracting hour-long queues for years, and for good reason. The small restaurant next to Borough Market serves up the capital’s (arguably) best pasta, and for reasonable prices too.

dishoom

dishoom

Another London cult classic. Even with five locations, Indian hot spot Dishoom still attracts long queues. If you’re not a fan of queuing. visit for breakfast or lunch when you can book a table.

gloria trattoria

gloria trattoria

At Gloria everything is a bit over-the-top — including the queues outside. Once inside though, you’ll be swept away by the charming, flamboyant interior and maximalist Italian menu — think 10-layer lasagnas and half foot tall lemon meringue pies.

din tai fung

din tai fung

Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung in Covent Garden is famous for its dumplings, where each one is prepared by hand during a 40-minute process before being served. Even though it seats 250, expect queues of up to 4 hours (!) during peak times.
