Union Tavern

Our January restaurant of the month is The Union Tavern, a super-cosy canal side pub north of Notting Hill. We recently went to try out their new Mexican-inspired pub menu and were really impressed!

For starters, we shared the fish tacos, fish cakes, quesadillas and (of course) some chips and guacamole!

And for the mains we went for three different types of burgers - pulled pork, buffalo chicken and brisket!

Pulled pork burger with BBQ sauce and coleslaw

Buffalo Chicken burger with excellent buffalo sauce

Perfectly tender Texas Brisket bun

If you're looking for something a little bit different from traditional pub food, then definitely check out The Union Tavern! Go on a Thursday for £5 rack of ribs and live music - and don't forget to check out their canal side terrace.

Sutton & Sons

Our third restaurant of the month goes to Sutton & Sons! We recently visited their new location on Essex road and had an amazing time.

What looks like a fish & chip take away on the outside is a lovely sit down restaurant on the inside! They have a cute downstairs area available for hire.

Some starters!

Your classic fish & chips - so good!! Fresh fish comes from their Stoke Newington fish monger every day.

And the best for last - battered mince pies! Sounds suspicious but tastes amazing.

Santo

We're delighted to announce that our second restaurant of the month is Santo, a lovely Mexican restaurant located on Portobello Road, in the heart of Notting Hill.

They served us with some killer margaritas and chips & gauc - the margarita santo was our favorite!

They've got a number of different ceviches and a ceviche bar where you can watch it being made! All were amazing and you can tell that the staff are really educated about their ceviches.

We tried a selection of tacos.

A carnitas burrito, one of the best we've ever had!

And for dessert, we had these amazing crepes.

Some great live Mexican music serenaded us throughout the night. Weekends at Santo turn into a party at night, something definitely worth checking out! Overall - great atmosphere, great food and great service!

GOAT

We're really excited to announce that we're starting London Food Babes "Restaurant of the month." Once a month we will be giving a shoutout to the top restaurant we visited that month - up first is GOAT, a New York-Italian restaurant on Fulham road!

Upon arrival we went for this tequila based cocktail called tequila mockingbird.

We started off with the beef carpaccio with truffle rocket and ravioli to share (we all wished that the ravioli was a bit larger though as it was so good!)

For mains we went for the miso glazed sea bass, corn fed chicken and burrata, ham and pesto pizza. The burrata pizza was definitely the winner here - nom!

As there's always room for dessert we ended our meal with a brownie and a blueberry cheesecake (to die for!)

After dinner we told the waiter that we wanted to repent our sins...

And so he took us to the stairs...

Where we were given the secret combination to enter their Prayer Room..

A cozy and intimate lounge bar with delicious cocktails and great tunes open until 1 am!

And interesting menus..

Overall we had a great experience at GOAT! Great food and an impressive list of cocktails, a cozy yet lively atmosphere and really friendly service! Could not recommend it enough!
